TheSCR based circuits are definitely NOT intended for LED's, for that please get the proper LED power supply, some are dimmamble and with those the SCR based dimmer will also work.
You can use it to power a classical bulb(filament), heating element, so resistive loads or to limit the voltage for power tools which have a series-winding stator (older vacuum's, older hand drilling machines etc), but nothing with an AC (asyncronous) motor.
